Foreign Cultural Policy in Focus

If you want to learn more about the ‘cultural identity’ of another country, if you’re preparing for a period of work or study overseas, if you’re interested in international cultural relations or researching for a dissertation or thesis on international affairs you’ll discover a unique collection of information at ifa’s library. It is Germany’s official documentation centre for foreign cultural policy, and is the only specialist research library in the world  dealing with the subject of cultural relations between nations. The spectrum of information ranges from language policy to exchanges and scientific relations between nations; from national stereotypes and geographical information about individual countries through to intercultural communications. With over 415,000 books and 1,200 newspapers, journals and magazines the ifa-library is a magnet for researchers and social scientists, and is an official research centre and information provider for the German parliament, the German foreign office and other government ministries.
